A peer forum for people who recruit, develop and support early talent
A peer community for early careers leaders.
A fortnightly virtual session where early talent practitioners share what is actually happening in their programmes, compare approaches and discuss the market conditions affecting everyone in the room.
What it is
A peer forum for early talent professionals.
The Roundtable is a peer forum for people who recruit, develop and support early talent. It runs as a regular virtual session, typically 90 minutes, where members share what is actually happening in their programmes, compare notes on what is working and what is not, and discuss the market changes that affect everyone in the room.
The Talent People hosts it. We do not chair it or steer it toward a product conversation. Members set the agenda. We facilitate and contribute. The insights that come from those sessions feed directly into what we build next, which is why we have been running it for five years and why it keeps growing.
What makes it different
Not a vendor event. Not a conference format.
Most peer communities in early talent are either vendor-run events dressed up as networking, or industry conference formats that do not leave time for honest conversation.
The Roundtable is neither. Attendance is free. There is no product demonstration. There is no follow-up sales call unless you ask for one. Members join because the conversations are genuinely useful. The people in the room are dealing with the same challenges and there is value in comparing approaches with people who understand the context.
It is also the only community of its kind that draws from the full early talent spectrum: FE colleges, independent training providers, employers, graduate recruiters and careers professionals all in the same room. The cross-sector view is part of what makes it worth attending.
What we talk about
Sessions follow the market.
Sessions follow the market. Recent topics have included: AI-assisted applications and how employers are responding; the updated Gatsby Benchmark requirements for schools; social mobility measurement and what SMEI actually asks for; apprenticeship reform and the Growth and Skills Levy; and early attrition, meaning why new hires leave in the first six months and what changes that.
Suggested topics come from members. The agenda for each session is published in advance. Members can attend all sessions, drop in occasionally, or watch recordings when they cannot make a live date.
1,250+ members. 550+ organisations. Five years.
The Talent People Roundtable is the largest peer community for early careers professionals in the UK.
Members include HR Directors, Heads of Early Careers, FE College Principals, ITP Managing Directors and Resourcing leads from organisations including Microsoft, Schneider Electric, BPP, Kaplan, Channel 4 and many others you will recognise from the ISE membership list.

Who it is for
Open to anyone working in early talent.
The Roundtable is open to anyone working in early talent: employers, training providers, FE colleges, careers professionals and sector bodies. It is not restricted to The Talent People clients. You do not need to be using our products to join, and joining does not commit you to anything.
If you are later interested in a conversation about what we do commercially, we are happy to have it. But that is a separate thing, and it happens on your terms, not ours.
