Hart L&D is based in North Hertfordshire and works with a broad range of employers to deliver a variety of apprenticeships at different levels. Hart has been praised for providing apprenticeships meeting the needs of local, regional and national employers too, playing an important role in lessening the skills gap. Ofsted’s ‘Good’ rating makes specific reference to the way in which they “…are responsive to employers’ needs”. Achieving successful results in candidate learning and client business growth has been key to their development.

The Problem

Hart L&D had acquired a large responsibility, building trust in the sector to develop young talent for the skills gaps that existed. Their system and processes allowed them to perform at a satisfactory standard, uploading roles in under two weeks, allowing the creation of a fairly large shortlist, and filling vacancies within a few months. With this setup having achieved them a good standard within the industry, they felt more needed to be done in order to improve the level of service and boost business growth in the sector.

The Solution

TalentPortal was integrated as Hart L&D’s sole recruitment system at every stage of their recruitment process.
Vacancies were uploaded to the system and posted on the GetMyFirstJob.com website and pushed to the relevant partner job boards too. The huge database of engaged candidates allowed for detailed targeting and shortlisting capabilities by the recruiters, progressing search capabilities. End-to-end applicant management was included as standard, allowing for the recruitment team to save applications, relevant documents and information related to the hiring process and track candidates from search, through to screening and then interview.

Integrated communication functionalities also allowed the recruitment team to speak to candidates at every stage of the attraction, engagement and recruitment process via text and email. This being designed to help improve their candidate experience.
